Union Street MedSpa in San Francisco offers IPL Photorejuvenation
Photorejuvenation is a dynamic process that uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to diminish the appearance of brown and red spots, to remove small veins and unwanted freckles, to even out skin tone and reduce flushing, and to smooth out the skin on the face and body. Since the FDA approved the use of this procedure, IPL has become very popular for treatment of sun-damaged and aging skin as well as for diminishing the appearance of conditions such as rosacea.
Photorejuvenation is non-surgical and does not require any recovery or downtime. The IPL procedure gently pulses an intense light over an entire treatment area, but, unlike a laser, this light emits energy over many wavelengths, allowing it to penetrate into the skin without burning the surface. Each pulse of light shrinks the abnormal, dilated blood vessels under the skin back to normal size so as to significantly reduce flushing and blushing. Deep pockets of pigment can be targeted resulting in the fading of brown and sun-damage spots resulting in dramatically more clear and refined skin.
For maximum results, photorejuvenation is generally done in series of 3 or 5 treatments with about 3 weeks between treatments at our medspa in San Francisco. Additional treatments are available and the appropriate recommendations will be made at your consultation as well as during treatments. This treatment may be complimented with microdermabrasion in between sessions. Customized packages are also available.
